Agramonte Sanatorium

Aragonien · Spania · Sanatorium

Women and children were treated at this abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium in the Moncayo forests – and a recorded voice allegedly ordered a TV crew to leave.

Deep in the forests of Moncayo lie the ruins of a sanatorium that opened in 1938 for women and children with tuberculosis, housed in what was meant to be a luxury hotel. Countless patients died here before the doors closed in 1978 and nature began to reclaim the site. It has since become one of Aragon's most visited spots for EVP hunters, who claim to have captured children's voices and footsteps in the empty wards. When Cuarto Milenio broadcast live from here in 2018, the crew perceived a voice ordering them to leave the building. The ruin stands open to the wind, hospital beds and tiles bearing witness.
