A limestone tower 25 metres tall, balanced on its narrowest end. The devil carried it here on the orders of the sorcerer Twardowski.

In the Pradnik valley in Ojcow national park stands a limestone block that looks wrong: twenty-five metres tall, broad at the top and narrow at the base, as if someone had set it up the wrong way round. The legend explains how. Pan Twardowski had sold his soul to the devil but written a clause into the contract, and when the devil finally caught up with him at the Rzym inn, the pact obliged him to grant three last wishes before he could take the soul. One of them was to carry this monstrous block here and stand it on its narrowest end in the valley. The devil did it, and the rock has stood ever since, against all reason. Twardowski himself escaped at the last moment on the back of a rooster and is said to be sitting on the moon still, homesick for Krakow.
