The White Lady has been asking forgiveness in the palace corridors since the 1820s. Nobody there fears her; she belongs to the house.

The Bishop's Palace at Franciszkanska 3 has a ghost nobody wants rid of. She is called the Biala Dama, the White Lady, and tradition gives her a name: Urszula Debinska, born Morstyn, starostina of Wolbrom and daughter of the castellan Jan Morstyn. In life she was a feared political operator known as the Tsarina of Krakow, and at the same time a devout woman who founded several churches. The first person to see her as an apparition is said to have been Bishop Jan Pawel Woronicz, later Primate of Poland, who died in 1829 and whose word nobody questioned. She has returned to the corridors ever since, always silent and always on the same errand: she asks forgiveness for her sins. The household treats her with a certain sympathy and counts her as a fixture of the residence.
