Golosov Ravine cuts through the old royal estate of Kolomenskoye in southern Moscow and has been wrapped in tales of mysterious disappearances for centuries. Best known is the story of peasants Arkhip Kuzmin and Ivan Bochkarev who, according to an 1832 newspaper item, walked into a dense fog in the ravine and returned home twenty years later, convinced only minutes had passed. Provincial police files reportedly logged several vanished villagers from the area during the 19th century, and stories of a greenish mist and hairy figures among the springs persist to this day. With its ancient sacred boulders, the ravine ranks among Moscow's most notorious anomalous places.
