At Alskog a rich farmer was believed to keep a nisse that drew wealth to the farm. When the priest visited he saw a small boy scrubbing the floor, and the farmer admitted a servant who would not show himself. The priest found the nisse's wages – food turned to clots of blood, buried under the gatepost – and then forced him to become a roaring lion and rush out through a needle-hole in the window lead, so the roofs trembled.
