In Ed parish it was told of a cobbler who had made boots for a soldier who died without paying. One evening he went to the grave in the churchyard and demanded his payment, but then the earth rumbled and the soldier rose with a whole army. They chased the cobbler all the way home, and when the host called on the three-bound broom to open, he set the broom upside down with a hymnbook on it, so it stayed still.
