At the pasture a great dog crept among the loads. When the father cursed at it, it climbed the wall and grew terribly tall.

Two men on their way home from Gothenburg, where they had sold pork and bought herring, let their horses graze at Limanäs. While the others cooked, the father went out to check the load and spotted a great dog moving among the carts. When he struck at it and swore, it crossed the road, climbed the wall, and grew terribly tall. He warned against traveling on that night, but the others wished to go, and a little further on he fell mortally ill and had to be left behind at Skogen.
