In the 'house of horror' outside Livno no lodger has lasted more than a few days – at night come knockings and the crying of children.

In the small village of Prisap, some fifteen kilometres from Livno on the road to Bihać, stands an isolated, long-abandoned house the locals call the house of horror and dread. The families who have tried to live there over the years are all said to have fled within days, driven out by what begins at nightfall: eerie screams, persistent knocking and the sound of children crying where no child is to be found. According to the villagers the house was raised on an old burial site, and it is the anger of the dead that never lets the living find peace under its roof.
