A faithless bride was danced away by a stranger, and a card game hid claws beneath the table.

From Numedal come two linked tales. A girl who broke her betrothal was danced out the door at her wedding by a strange man and never seen again. At another farm, cards were played with a fine gentleman who always won, until a dropped card revealed his claws gripping the table leg, and only the Røken priest could finally drive him out.
