The priest's windmill burned every Walpurgis Night – until a farmhand hidden in the hopper broke the witches' fire with a crashing fall.

At Alskog the priest's windmill burned down every Walpurgis Night, year after year. A farmhand once hid in the grain hopper to keep watch but fell asleep, waking to find the Fiend dancing with his witches from Blåkulla down in the mill. Just as they kindled their fire the farmhand leaned too far forward and crashed down, at which the whole company fled in terror – and the mill was never troubled again.
