A Finnish sorcerer set the devil to turn the grindstone – and bound him while the sparks flew.
In Eidskog they tell of the sorcerer called Paradis-Perken, one of the worst in the district. Once his servant boy read the devil loose, but the old man quickly found a granite stone and set the devil to turn the grindstone while he ground away so the sparks flew. As he read and ground, he managed to bind the devil again, despite his complaints about the heavy labour.
