In Etne they tell of the priest Heggelund, who owned the black book. Once, while he preached, his wife found the book and read the devil free. The priest sensed it, left the pulpit and hurried home. At Prästleirene he met the devil and set him to twist rope from sand and water in the brook, then bound him again as he came weeping, unable to finish the rope.
