The Reinke House

Michigan · United States · House

Twin girls of about six were seen walking hand in hand through the kitchen and out toward Budd Lake, past the woman putting away the shopping.

The house stands near Budd Lake at Harrison, Michigan, and the accounts collected from the family who lived there fall into two groups.

The first belongs to the mother. She was in her kitchen putting away groceries when she looked up to see twin girls of around six, holding hands, walking toward her. They passed her, went out of the door, and continued down toward the lake. She described them as entirely solid until the moment they were not there.

The second concerns a large man. Mr Reinke was tying up his boat at the water when he looked up at his own bedroom window and saw the figure of a big man standing in it. He went straight up to check that everything was as it should be. The room was empty. The same figure was reported again shortly afterwards, this time by his daughter, who woke in the night and saw it.

The house is a private home and is listed here for the record rather than as somewhere to visit. What holds the two accounts together is that both witnesses were doing something ordinary outdoors and looked up.
