Lady Gizella Kompolti, who slew her suitor and leapt from the cliffs, is said to appear among the ruins after sunset.

Perched on a volcanic crag in the eastern Mátra hills, Sirok's fortress is partly carved straight into the rock. Legend tells that after her father's death, Lady Gizella Kompolti vowed never to love – yet when seven knights arrived she fell for one of them. His jealous rivals challenged him to a duel and killed him, whereupon Gizella slew the victor in revenge and threw herself from the castle's highest point. To this day visitors report icy gusts and unexplained noises within the walls, and some claim to glimpse her figure wandering the ruins after dusk.
