Mrs. F. and the Dance at Bomarsund
Åland · Finland · Sägenplats · Scare 3/5
The devil waltzed the best dancer all night and the fiddlers couldn't stop, until a priest pierced the lead.
At a dance at Bomarsund on Åland a strange gentleman came in and asked Mrs. F., the finest dancer, to dance. The pair whirled ever more wildly, and when others wished to stop the fiddlers could not cease even after the strings were cut. All night the devil danced with the exhausted woman, until the rector S. from Hammarland was fetched. He pierced a hole in the window lead and with a short prayer drove the devil out, and Mrs. F. swore never to dance again.
