The devil danced the proud girl until the skin came off her feet, and three priests had to try to drive him out.

At a dance in Vörå the devil came, unknown to all, and danced only with the boys until a proud girl arrived. With her he danced so long that the skin came off her feet, and then they guessed who he was. Two priests tried in vain to drive him out, but a third succeeded; he pierced a hole in the window lead with a pin and said that if it were a man he might dance, but if it were the devil he must go out, and out through the hole the devil went.
