In the Spanish lighthouse above the South China Sea, keepers hear a crying child and glimpse a woman in white.
The Cape Bojeador lighthouse, first lit in 1892, is one of the Spanish colonial lights still guiding mariners along Luzon's northern coast. Stories say labourers died in forced work during its construction, and a keeper trapped inside during a typhoon is said to have heard a child crying and a woman's voice from the empty rooms. A former caretaker described seeing a young woman in white and a priest moving through the tower. The base of the lighthouse is now a museum, and tourists still report unexplained sounds among the weathered brick walls.
