She read scripture and drove the devil from cupboard to chimney, until at last he hung dead on a fence stake.
In Vörå lived an old woman who swore and dabbled in devilry, and her husband no less. When the devil kept finding his way into their cottage, she drove him with Bible-reading from one hiding place to the next, out through a hole in the window lead and up the chimney. At last he tangled himself and fell, ending up impaled on a fence stake, a drastic end to the devil's visit.
