In Vörå a man wished to meet the devil and went to a roadside, drew a ring around himself and lay cursing. Again and again signs came: a flying ball, a carriage full of gentry, a lady with a trailing skirt who sent him home. There the devil sat at the head of the table, beckoning him closer. When the man finally kicked him in defiance, the devil chased him down and tore him to small pieces.
