In Lappfjärd a false judge was buried before the altar in the church. A man was allowed to stand inside the chancel with a stake in his hand, and then the Devil came, pulled the judge from his coffin and stripped off his skin. The man speared the skin on the stake and refused to surrender it until the Devil had fetched back everything the judge had taken wrongfully - all but a single coin wedged in a cleft of rock.
