In Vörå a shoemaker was dared to sew shoes in the church pulpit by night. He went there, drew a ring around himself and one around the candle, and began to work. The Devil came and blew so the church shook but could not put out the candle. Then he fetched the skin of a dead bailiff, but the shoemaker snatched it to himself and would not let go until the Devil promised all his money.
