Ever since, islanders say the couple appears at the bridge in the light of the full moon — in the strangest telling, in the form of two white rabbits with glowing red eyes. Drivers also claim to have seen a young couple waving from the railing before vanishing. The old bridge is now a footbridge and a memorial to the lovers.
