Thank you, to everyone who passed it on

Ghost stories have always travelled the same way: someone tells someone else. 9 people did that for us this time, and the map gained 10 places.

A ghost story has never come from an archive. It has come from someone who heard something, and could not keep it to themselves. That is how it has always worked: from the neighbour, over the fence, in the kitchen, late in the evening once the children were asleep.

The map we are building is the same thing, with a form instead of a fence. Every place here was pointed out by someone. And this month, that someone was you.

The places you gave us

Thank you to Sol, Cometen Paranormal, Tina Högman, Skuggan, Janina Schad (Murasakiiro), emrik engstedt, Dovydas batutis, mischievous and Leif Kuhlin. You found the place, wrote down what you knew, and sent it to someone you have never met. That is not a small thing.

A tip rarely stays a dot on a map. It becomes something another person reads on a rainy evening, and drives out to a weekend later. The story carries on, the way it always has, and it carries on because you sent it.

Know a place we are missing?

There are places in this country that perhaps a dozen people know about. A cottage nobody will sleep in. A crossroads where the cars always slow. A cellar stair no one in the house will take.
